Mitch Bedke grew up in San Diego and the son of an accomplished painter and artist. He was exposed to a lot of mediums growing up, and always said
“I am an artist, I just haven’t found my medium”. After finishing up at the U of U, he worked in his father’s advertising agency as a graphic designer, giving him more freedom of creativity. He then settled in Park City in the late 80’s. Raising his two boys in this Mountain Town they enjoy all it has to offer. In 2010 he took a glass fusing class at the Kimball Art Center and was quickly hooked. From there he moved into Glass Casting sculptures which is his main passion. Glass is a spectacular medium for color and when light shines through, it radiates. In addition to Glass he enjoys carving Linocut block and making prints. Being a fan of color is evident in all his works, from glass sculptures to the Linocut prints, bright colors are a prominent feature. Welding, painting and photography are also mediums he works in.
